Level I (Apprentice): 40 HRS. Laser Hair Removal (40-Hour Hybrid Courses: 31hrs. Online (self-paced) & 9hrs. Hands-on Training)

Laser Hair Removal (LHR) is a medical cosmetic procedure that uses a concentrated beam of light (laser) to destroy hair follicles dramatically reducing hair growth on almost all parts of the body. This procedure delays hair growth for long periods of time and normally requires several treatments initially. Using proper methods and laser devices, laser hair removal is safe and very effective for all skin types.

This course is a very extensive and complete course being the base and foundation of other laser and light-based aesthetic procedures. Most of this course consists of lectures where the student will learn different components of the Science of Lasers, Anatomy, and Physiology of the Skin and Hair, training in performing consultations with patients and possible complications, Blood Born Pathogens, Safety, Rules & Regulations (Laws), CPR & AED.

This course is approved by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) and meets the required training.

Once the student finalizes this course, they will receive a certification from La Vida Aesthetics Institute to be able to submit to TDLR to obtain a license as a Laser Hair Removal Technician- Apprentice-In-Training. This license does not yet allow you to perform laser treatments on your own, only with direct supervision from a licensed Senior or Professional LHR technician.

The student will also receive 3 more certifications included in this course: Laser Safety Officer (LSO), BLOOD Born Pathogens and CPR.
Once the LHR Apprentice license has been granted from TDLR the LHR Technician-Apprentice may move forward in performing the 100 Treatment Practicum (2^nd level). *TDLR’s Apprentice license processing fee is $50

Level II (Technician): 100 Treatment Practicum (4-5hrs. Hands-on Training)

In this course, the student will perform laser hair removal treatments on live models guided by a licensed Professional LHR. There is no lecture.

Once the student finalizes their practice, they will receive signed log sheets to be able to submit to TDLR to obtain a license as a Laser Hair Removal Technician. This license allows you to perform laser treatments without direct supervision in an established facility that is overseen by a Medical Director.

After the LHR Technician license has been granted from TDLR and another student has scheduled their 100T the Laser Hair Removal Technician may elevate to the Senior LHR Technician. (Level 3)*TDLR’s Laser Technician license processing fee is $70

Level III (Senior Technician): Supervise 100 Treatment (4-5hrs. Hands-on Training)

In this course, the student will be doing observation of laser hair removal treatments on live models performed by another student guided by a licensed Professional LHR. There is no lecture.

Once the student finalizes their practice, they will receive signed log sheets to be able to submit to TDLR to obtain a license as a Senior Laser Hair Removal Technician. This license allows you to perform laser treatments without direct supervision in an established facility that is overseen by a Medical Director and be able to step in for a Professional LHR Technician when the Professional is absent. (max days of 45)

After the Senior LHR Technician license has been granted from TDLR the Senior Laser Hair Removal Technician may elevate to the Professional LHR Technician if they choose to. (Level 4) *TDLR’s license processing fee is $100

Level IV (Professional Laser Technician): Exam (Online)

Students will use the material provided in level 1 including the practice quizzes to prepare for this exam.
A licensed Professional Laser Hair Removal Technician must be always on-site while laser treatments are being performed unless an MD is on site.  *TDLR’s license processing fee is $150

Admission Requirements:

1. The minimum age for admissions is at least 18 years at the date of application.
2. Students must have attained a high school diploma, GED or equivalent.
3. Proficiency in English and/or Spanish for Spanish instructed course.

Student Acknowledgement of the School’s Refund Policy

Students enrolling in any courses agree to the following:

• Refunds for hybrid courses are determined by the total course hours. Once students have login access, refunds are based on the entire course duration, with online hours treated as full hours, regardless of actual online time. This policy ensures fair refunds from the moment students gain login access.
• There will be no refunds after the student has completed the course. Any materials, supplies, equipment, or other purchases are non-refundable.
• Non-attendance or cancellation for in-person courses only without using any clock hours including student portal will result in the forfeiture of a $100 processing fee, per course.
• The termination’s effective date for refund purposes will be the earliest occurrence of receiving written notice from the student via email.
