The Laser Safety Officer course is to train the student to ensure the safe and knowledgeable use of lasers in classrooms and within the aesthetics industry. The Laser Safety Officer must ensure that all employees who operate, maintain, or service laser products are properly trained. The Laser Safety Officer is also responsible for establishing, monitoring, and enforcing laser controls, as well as evaluating laser hazards.
This Hybrid course is a blended self-paced online and in-person practice certification course that provides comprehensive study of theory and practice as a Laser Safety Officer. Student will have access to extensive online videos and training, through comprehensive course materials to obtain the skills required. At the completion of the course, an examination will be administered.
Course Hours: 3 hrs. total (self-paced online)
Requirements for completion of the course:
· 95% of total course hours
· Score a passing mark on the final examination of at least 70%.
A certificate from the La Vida Aesthetics Institute as a Laser Safety Officer will be awarded with the completion of the course.
Objective:
Upon completion of the training in the Laser Safety Officer course, the student will be able to apply the theory and practice for safe and knowledgeable use of lasers in laboratories, classrooms, and the environment.

- Hazard assessment by the Laser Safety Officer (LSO)
- Laser worker safety training
- Written laser safety procedure
- Safety considerations – hazard zone
- Appropriate laser protective eyewear/PPE

3. Chapter skills assessments to check understanding of key course concepts.
4. A certification of completion as a Laser Safety Officer from the La Vida Aesthetics Institute
Admission Requirements:
1. Minimum age for admissions is at least 18 years of age at the date of application.
2. Students must have attained a high school diploma, GED or equivalent.
3. Proficiency in English and/or Spanish for Spanish instructed courses.
