The Dermaplaning Certification Course is designed to provide students with the foundational knowledge and hands-on experience needed to safely and effectively perform professional dermaplaning treatments.
Dermaplaning is an advanced exfoliation procedure that uses a sterile surgical blade to carefully remove the outermost layer of dead skin cells and fine vellus hair (peach fuzz). The treatment creates an immediately smoother and brighter appearance while helping improve skin texture and product absorption.
Students will learn proper blade handling, positioning, treatment technique, client selection, contraindications, and safety protocols. The course also covers how to evaluate the skin and adjust the treatment based on the client’s individual needs.
During hands-on training, each student will have their own live model and perform a complete full-face dermaplaning treatment under instructor supervision.
Format: Hybrid (Self-paced online theory + In-person hands-on training)
Total Hours: 4 hours
After enrollment, students will receive access to the course through the La Vida Laser & Aesthetics Institute student portal.
The online portion provides the foundational knowledge students need before performing dermaplaning, including skin anatomy, client selection, contraindications, treatment protocols, safety, and pre- and post-treatment care.
Students must complete the required online materials before attending their scheduled hands-on training.
